Victoria Chiu

Victoria trained at VCA and spent formative years in Europe working and touring extensively with companies Cie Nomades, Cie Gilles Jobin, Micha Purucker, Jozsef Trefeli and Jane Turner.

In Australia she has worked with Fiona Malone, Bernadette Walong and with Australian Dance Theatre for TV show Superstars of Dance filmed in LA.

She choreographed four short works in Switzerland then while moving between Europe and Australia she created first full length work with swiss Cie József Trefeli called ‘StarStruck’ which premiered in Sydney and toured Talinn, Annemasse, Dresden, Albania, Winterthur and Geneva.

Based back in Australia Victoria formed Chiucox with Roland Cox and successfully created and toured ‘The Ballad of Herbie Cox’, touring with critical acclaim across Canada, invited to Los Angeles April 2013 and recently invited to Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival 2014.

Victoria completed full length work ‘Floored’ as Dancehouse’s XI Housemate presented at Dancehouse August 2013 and has had the pleasure of choreographing in collaboration with the Pre-Professional year Sydney Dance Company and Dusty Feet in Alice Springs.

Chiucox have been company in residence at Footscray Community Arts Centre since September 2013. Victoria advocates cultural diversity as an Ambassador for Multicutlural Arts Victoria for the Melbourne Festival.

Kristina Chan

Over the past 15 years Kristina has performed throughout Australia, Canada, UK, USA, Asia, Israel and Europe working with; Force Majeure Australian Dance Theatre Garry Stewart, Chunky Move, Australian Ballet, Gideon Obarzanek, Lucy Guerin Inc, Stephanie Lake, Lisa Wilson, Sydney Theatre Company, Legs On The Wall, Tasdance, Narelle Benjamin, Anton, Tanja Liedtke and Martin del Amo.

Kristina is developing A Faint Existence, a full length solo dance work produced by Force Majeure and supported by Carriageworks.

Other choreogrpahic works are Kingdom Mourning (2012 Adelaide College of the Arts), Two Player Games (2013 NAISDA dance college) short solo works Carnivorous (Solo Festival of Dance Brisbane), Lost and Found (iOU Dance 2011 and Spring Dance Festival 2012) and Crestfallen (iOU 2013) and adrift (iOU 2014). Kristina is the Project Manager of iOU Dance, which is a choreographic platform for NSW independent choreographers.

Kristina has been awarded a Helpmann Award for her performance in Narelle Benjamin’s In Glass (2011) and two Australian Dance Awards for Tanja Liedtke’sTwelfth Floor (2006) and construct (2009).
