Antony Hamilton

Antony Hamilton is an Australian choreographer. His award winning performances involve a sophisticated melding of movement, sound and visual design, and traverse subject matter from formal physical study to the world of the fantastic. His works are often visually dynamic, unique and immersive environments, firmly rooted in choreographic exploration.

As a dancer, he has worked extensively throughout Australia and overseas, predominantly with Chunky Move, Lucy Guerin Inc and Australian Dance Theatre. As choreographer, he has created works for The Lyon Opera Ballet, Chunky Move, Australian Dance Theatre, Dancenorth, Expressions, LINK, The Victorian College of the Arts, Stompin and Rogue. Antony’s major independent works include Blazeblue Oneline (2008), Drift (2010), the multi-award winning Black Project 1 (2012), and Black Project 2 (2013). Notable commissions include Keep Everything (2012) for Chunky Move, Black Project III (2010) for The Lyon Opera Ballet, and RGB (2010) for Australian Dance Theatre.

Antony was inaugural recipient of the Russell Page Fellowship in 2004, the Tanja Liedtke Fellowship in 2009, an Australia Council for the Arts Creative Australia Fellowship in 2012 and a Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship in 2014. Antony was the inaugural guest Dance Curator for The National Gallery of Victoria’s Melbourne NOW program.

Alisdair Macindoe

Alisdair Macindoe is a Melbourne-based dancer and choreographer who trained in dance at the Victorian Collage of the Arts.

He has performed in work by Chunky Move (Assembly, Connected, Two Faced Bastard, Black Marrow, I Like This and Keep Everything), Lucy Guerin Inc. (Structure and Sadness, Human Interest Story, Untrained, Weather, Conversation Piece), Antony Hamilton Projects (Blood and Bone, Drift), Stephanie Lake (DUAL), Leigh Warren and dancers (Seven), Nat Cursio Co. (The Album Project), Cobie Orger (Human_Edit), Stone/Castro (Blackout) and his own works (Bromance, 525600LOVE and Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain).

Alisdair was the recipient of the 2013 Helpmann Award for Best Male Dancer (for DUAL) and the 2012 Green Room Award for Best Male Dancer for his year’s work (nominated in 2008 and 2013). He also received the 2004 Friends of the VCA Scholarship.

Alisdair is a self-taught sound designer, composer and instrument builder. His credits for sound design include works by Antony Hamilton, Chunky Move’s ‘Next Move’ Program, Lucy Guerin Inc’s ‘Pieces for Small Spaces’, Australian Dance Theatre’s ‘Ignition’ Tour, STOMPIN, Yellow Wheel, The VCA, Second Toe and his own works 525600LOVE and Bromance.

From 2010-13 Alisdair composed and produced 3 albums of music for the Australian Teachers of Dancing Contemporary/Modern syllabus for use in dance training and examination. In 2014, he received a Green Room award for Dance Composition for Black Project 2.
