Australia-Finland Dance Exchange and other Nordic Exchange Projects; a friendly presentation.
Did you know that there is a delegation of presenters from Finland at Dance Massive this year?
Did you realise that there are also several Finnish artists and their Australian partners in town for the “Picnic on the Edge” dance exchange?
There are presenters from Iceland, Denmark and Norway in Melbourne, and a network of national presenters is engaged in a ground-breaking Nordic region exchange proposal currently awaiting a funding outcome from the E.U.
Come and meet our Nordic friends, alongside their Australian partners and supporters to discuss why this north-south collaboration is so lively.
Pirjetta Mulari of Dance Info Finland and Sophie Travers of Australia Council will present the dance exchange with Angharad Wynne Jones talking briefly about the networked project. Other presenters from the region will chip in their insights into working between Australia and this welcoming and well resourced region of Europe.
We look forward to seeing you at this 90 minute presentation and question and answer session and encourage you to spread the word amongst anyone interested to learn more.
You can also visit the IDANCEX International Dance Exchange website which features updates to the project, and a really great show-reel from stage 3 experimentations – demonstrating what the artists have been up to.
