Harri Kuorelahti graduated from Theatre Academy Helsinki in 1990. Since then he has worked as a dance artist, performer and choreographer in many freelance productions in Finland and abroad and as a one of the leading dancers at Helsinki Dance Company at Helsinki City Theater. He was the Artistic Director at Full Moon Dance Festival 2007-2009. He has been the Artistic Director at Zodiak – Center for New Dance and Side Step Festival since September 2009.
Zodiak – Center for New Dance is a progressive dance organization and Finland’s most significant contemporary dance production house with two stages and studios in Helsinki. The mission of Zodiak is to produce, present and promote works of high artistic quality and innovation. Zodiak provides a creative environment and collegial platform for Finnish independent dance groups and artists as well as provides a joint, collegial platform for various artistic activities. Zodiak also supports international collaboration projects and hosts annual international program Side Step Festival. For the audience, Zodiak offers a versatile repertoire of current cutting edge contemporary dance, artists, phenomena, courses, discussions and events.
