Fu Ruoyan is a well known arts manager, director and producer. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, majoring in film/management, then took up a deputy manager position at the Beijing N-Theatre. In 2008 he established the Jalent (Beijing) Culture Communication Co. Ltd.
In 2009 Jalent was named by the authoritative news agency, The Beijing News as a rising production company, with experts saying the company’s philosophy, working to support youth theatre, producing work by young directors and participating in youth theatre festivals, has contributed to a steady flow of fresh blood in theatre circles.
From 2012, the company formally established Jalent Theatre, the first privately owned performing art agency in China. Since then, the company has produced and toured more than sixty shows which have been box office and artistic successes. The company has formed partnerships with theatres in Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu and Xian.
Fu won the Golden Lion Award for Management in 2012 and wrote and directed the comedy Three Mr. Bean’s life in 2013.
