Jade Lillie is the Director & CEO of Footscray Community Arts Centre, Australia’s leading and longest running community engaged, contemporary arts centre.
A passionate advocate for the arts and social justice, Jade is an experienced community cultural development practitioner, arts executive, educator and facilitator. She firmly believes that arts and cultural development, underpinned by sound engagement and social justice frameworks, are tools for social and systemic change.
Jade’s work has taken her from regional and remote communities in Queensland and the Northern Territory to Northern Thailand and SE Asia. She has experience in government (Brisbane City Council, Arts Queensland) and non-Government contexts (SpeakOut, Contact Inc). In 2009, Jade was the recipient of the Kirk Robson Award and was recognised as a young cultural leader in community cultural development practice.

Curatorial Statement

FCAC is a producer and presenter of works that are representative of social, political and cultural commentary in a contemporary Australian context. We are particularly interested in supporting creative developments, showings and outcomes by artists who are involved in community engaged practice and have an important story to share.
